Robert Orr Compton 4, m Wed. Dec. 5, 1860, at Chatfield, Minn. Irene Kellam, daughter of Lewis. and Elizabeth Kellam; Irene d at Chatfield, Tues. Apr. 10, 1866. Robert was a private in Co. A. of the Second Minnesota in the Civil War; was mustered into the service Feb. 29, 1864; "marched with Sherman to the sea," and was mustered out July 11, 1865. A farmer in Nebraska for several years; is now (Dec 1899) a resident of Lookout Mountain, Tenn. where he owns a fruit farm.

Ancestry.com records also list a date of death of 17 May 1902 in Lookout Mountain.
