Notes

Narciss Compton 3, m Leonard Cummings Blood in March 1839. About 1840 moved to near Cincinnati; in 1842 to St. Joe, Mo.; in 1847 to Erie county, Pa. About 1851 bought a ten-acre lot of J. J. Compton near what is now McLane. Built and lived on it till 1858, then sold it. In 1859 bought a lot just across the road from her former place and built the house in which Lee Ensign now (1901) lives. Lived there till 1871. In 1873 she built a wing to the house owned and occupied by Wm. Densmore 4, on 18th street, Erie, Pa. Lived there two years, then moved to St. Louis, Mo. and lived with Mrs. Tina Densmore-Delehanty 5. Died there very suddenly Oct. 30, 1880. Without education she became an accomplished artist in various handicraft. She was universally beloved for her sweet temper and amiable disposition, and respected for her intelligence and dignity.
